Do drug officials target users or dealers?

Posted on November 23rd, 2009 No Comments

Drug officials go after both users and dealers. However, as a matter of policy, many of the larger drug raids often involve dealers.

Dealers are often targeted in order to shut down the source of the drug trade. For this same reason, drug dealers often receive harsher sentences. These sentences can include prison time and financial penalties.

Seat Belts Used to Pull Individuals Over for Other Crimes

Posted on July 29th, 2009 No Comments

Many officers will routinely use minor offenses such as not wearing a seatbelt or having an expired registration sticker as an attempt to investigate an individual for other activities or possible crimes.

An officer will many times pull over a vehicle for these infractions, and then question the driver about completely unrelated charges.  It is important to always drive with a seatbelt on and obey the laws.  If an officer pulls you over for an infraction,  be cooperative up to the point where you are assisting with the infraction at hand. Do not admit guilt to anything and try to be helpful while protecting your rights.
