34-year-old Adrian Sarmiento was arrested as a suspect in the death of 54-year-old Gilbert Flores. According to KTVU, he was “already in custody on unrelated theft charges.”
Flores was taken to the hospital by his family, where he died five days later. Initially, the family reported that he had slipped and fallen, hitting his head. After his death, Flores’ sister reported that, “his injuries could have been from assault,” according to KTVU.
KTVU reports, “It appears there was a physical altercation between Sarmiento and Flores prior to the murder… [Police] could not elaborate on how police linked Sarmiento to Flores’ death.” Charges have not yet been filed in this ongoing investigation.
