Woman fights off attacker twice

Posted on June 10th, 2010 No Comments

A San Jose woman was able to fight off a man who was attempting to rob and sexually assault her in a storage facility last week.  When the woman entered her personal storage facility, a strange man followed her inside and tried to knock her out with a blow from his elbow.  The victim attempted to fight him off.  The suspect then tried to grab her car keys from her hand, and threatened to steal her Mercedes.  When the woman resisted his attacks, the man turned and ran out of the storage facility, slamming the door behind him.

When the woman went to leave the storage facility, the man was waiting for her.  He grabbed her and the woman resisted again until the man gave up and ran for his own vehicle.  The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries she sustained in the attack.

Algebra Teacher Arrested for Assault

Posted on February 27th, 2009 No Comments

A first-year Algebra teacher at a San Jose public high school was recently arrested for having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Alberto Gomez Vicuna Jr., the accused teacher, is 32 years old.  Police
revealed Vicuna had met the young girl through a website called
tagged.com, where he had a buddy list with over 100 females, who were
aged 13-17.  He also had a separte profile where he posed as a
15-year-old boy.

Several of Vicuna's students had various things to say regarding his
teaching.  Many agreed he paid a lot more attention to the female
students than the males.  One mother complained to Vicuna that he was
not giving her son proper attention during class.

Police are still searching for more victims.
