Badminton coach arrested on charges of sexual assault

A 21-year-old “seasonal” badminton coach for Piedmont Hills High School in San Jose has been arrested on charges that he sexually assaulted a juvenile student at the school.

Police say that the man may have also coahced at athletic clubs and community centers in the Fremont and San Jose. He was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a minor under the age of 18 this Friday.

Police could not be reached for comment and it has not been made clear whether or not the accusation is with regards to a girl or boy.

22-year-old Man Confesses to Child Molestation

22-year-old Spencer Atwood of Anderson, Indiana, confessed to performing a sexual act on a 13-year-old girl in July.  The name of the girl has not been released.

According to police records, the young girl was spending the night at a friend's, where Atwood and his wife and children also lived.  The girl reported to have been watching a movie with Atwood around 6:30a.m.

Atwood tried to kiss the girl, and told her he wanted to have sex with her.  After the girl refused, she fled to the bathroom to get away.  Atwood followed her in to the bathroom, and proceeded to perform a sexual act.

Atwood stopped only when his wife started knocking on the bathroom door.  He told his wife and police the act was consensual.

Felony Charges for Teacher in Sex Case

Madison, WI–A high school teacher faces up to $10,000 in fines and up to 10 years in prison while having sex with a student while he was employed at the school. The teacher had sex with the student twice, once during the student’s junior year and once during the student’s senior year, in 2000 and 2001 respectively.

Currently, the teacher has been released on $10,000 bond and cannot come into any type of contact with children without someone watching over him and cannot take part in any volunteer activities if he has has to associate with individuals under the age of 18.
