Five Men Arrested for Stealing Artist’s Statues

Five men were recently arrested in San Jose, California on charges of stealing at least twenty metal statues that were in the possession of the artist who created them. The statues were all worth over one hundred dollars. The men were also found to be using a stolen vehicle to facilitate their thefts.

Officers spotted a Nissan, occupied by the five suspects, that had been reported stolen. When the officers pulled the Nissan over, they found the statues, as well as weapons and tools used for burglaries. The men were all taken into custody, and the items belonging to the artist were returned to him.

The men could face several years in prison for the crimes of burglary and auto theft.

San Jose family targeted in robbery, police believe

San Jose police believe that a home robbery in the Willow Glen area  may have been an intentional act committed against the family. According to a source familiar with the case, an automobile repairman and his family were tied up and robbed in their home on Monday morning at 5:00 a.m. Police believe the family may have been targeted because they routinely have several expensive vehicles parked outside of the home. Authorities are still investigating the crime and do not yet have any suspects.

Dealer Convicted of Assault, Theft, and Trafficking

Truro–A drug dealer has been given 38 month of prison time for charges of assault, theft, and drug trafficking. The defense and Crown attorney had asked for a 28 month sentence, but the judge in the case thought 28 months was not enough time. 38 months is closer to the time others have been receiving for similar convictions.

The drugs the trafficker was accused of possessing were cocaine and ecstasy. His was charged with assault causing bodily harm; he punched a man in the face and broke his nose damaged his teeth. Finally, he stole two lotto tickets and breached undertakings.
