Around 9 PM Friday evening, law enforcement officers responded to reports of an incident involving weapons at the 1000 block of Morris Court.  Reports to the police department said that they had heard a woman scream before hearing “pop” noises that sounded like a gun firing.  Officers found the woman injured from a gunshot wound and pronounced her dead at the scene of the crime soon after arriving.

The man who was arrested was a San Jose resident but his identity has yet to be released.  The woman was the 16th murder victim in San Jose this year.

According to police, the men, aged 30, 36, 18, 19, and 32, allegedly robbed the Check ‘n’ Go Payday Loans at 461 Blossom Hill Road last Tuesday.

During the robbery, th 27-year-old woman and 23-year-old man working at the store were held at gunpoint. The man was shot in the arm and taken to a hospital, but is expected to make a recovery.

According to the 27-year-old woman, the robbers acted as a team, with two remaining outside as lookouts while the others came inside.

The robbers fled the scene but were seen by police in the area of southbound Highway 87 near Curtner Avenue.

Police followed the vehicle before stopping it near Jackson Avenue. The five men then fled the scene on foot but all were eventually caught.

In late July, the three teens allegedly threw a rock off of an overpass and hit a 48-year-old man. The man was traveling down Interstate 80 when the accident occurred.

The man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries such as a broken jaw bone. All three teens are minors, two of them are 16-years-old and the other is 17-years-old. They have each been charged with eight felonies including battery resulting with serious injury, three counts of assault, and three counts of assault by means of force.

All vehicles that reach the checkpoint at the undisclosed point will be checked by police to make sure that they are not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Any person that is suspected of being under the influence will be arrested and taken to jail.

26-year-old Darrel Madison and 25-year-old Anthony Ott were arrested in connection with the seizure at these locations. Madison is charged with possessing marijuana for sale and suspicion of cultivating marijuana. Ott is charged with suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale.

Authorities say they became suspicious after an officer responded to a call near one of the warehouses and smelled marijuana. A search warrant was obtained, and authorities raided the facility.

The undercover officer, disguised as a customer, said he, “was solicited for a sexual act from Jianping Huang, 55, of San Francisco,” according to Petaluma 360. Other officers went into the building to make the arrests.

Petaluma 360 reports that, “Also arrested were Lydie Hu, 48, of San Jose and Jiezhen Gao, 50, of San Jose for ‘keeping or living in a house of prostitution.’”

The three were given misdemeanor tickets and released from the Petaluma Police Department.

Flores was taken to the hospital by his family, where he died five days later. Initially, the family reported that he had slipped and fallen, hitting his head. After his death, Flores’ sister reported that, “his injuries could have been from assault,” according to KTVU.

KTVU reports, “It appears there was a physical altercation between Sarmiento and Flores prior to the murder… [Police] could not elaborate on how police linked Sarmiento to Flores’ death.” Charges have not yet been filed in this ongoing investigation.
